Academic Event: Photo talk on conservation, animal behaviour and ecology

Join us for a photo talk on conservation, animal behaviour, and long-term field-based ecology, focusing on the central Ethiopian Highlands!

Dr Jeff Kerby is a polar and alpine ecologist at the Scott Polar Research Institute in the Dept. of Geography, and has a background in science and natural history photojournalism including working as a photographer for National Geographic magazine as well as having work shown in BBC Green Planet, Wired Magazine, GEO, and others. This talk, titled “Life above the Great Rift Valley: Ethiopia’s alpine monkeys”  will touch on some of Jeff’s studies in the Ethiopian Highlands. It will be a narrative talk centred around natural history, photography and the experience of studying gelada monkeys and their environment alongside Ethiopian and international colleagues in the 2010s.
